讀經的方法
A guide on Sutra recitation

先靜坐三分鐘,調順呼吸,收攝心神。
Meditate for 3 minutes ,regulate your breathing, focus on your mind

眼觀經、手指經、口吐經、耳聽經、意在經、鼻孔自然呼吸,不徐不疾。
Eye focus on the sutra, finger points on the sutra, recite the sutra, listen to the sutra, mind concentration, breath naturally and unhurriedly.

經從心中起,清清淨淨。
Sutra begins in your heart, clearly and peacefully

經從眼中過,明明白白。
Sutra passes your eyes, with clarity

經從口中出,字正音圓。
Sutra comes out from your mouth , clear words and sound

經從耳中入,靈靈寂寂。
Sutra enter your ears , clearly

經從竅中落,落地有聲。
Sutra enter your conscience, and clearly heard.


2020/07/13 佈施度慳貪之3——只有積福還不夠,還要修慧,修你的慧命,也就是修你的心。辦道是修福,修道是修慧;你渡眾生、救渡眾生,那是修福,你渡自己、救自己,那是修慧。外渡人,內渡己,內外功兼修,就是福慧雙修。如果貪執的心看不破,就算行再大的功勞、講再多的好話,功德還是很有限。六度波羅蜜中的佈施不是儘做表相的功夫,而是要從內心真正的去除貪著;如果佈施很大,而心裡卻有所貪執,執著一個「得」,有得則有失,就會在患得患失之中,你的慳貪又如何去除?因此,「佈施度慳貪」的「佈施」,是指「無所執」的清靜佈施。


「六度萬行」佈施波羅蜜,佈施度慳貪之 (3)

仙佛慈語:只有積福還不夠,還要修慧, 修你的慧命,也就是修你的心。
Only accumulated blessing is not enough as it also need to cultivating wisdom, practice your buddha nature that is to practice your true nature.

辦道是修福,修道是修慧; 你渡眾生、救渡眾生,那是修福,
To propagate Tao is to practice the blessing, to cultivate Tao is to grow the wisdom; you preach the Taoism for all beings, and willing to save the spirit for all beings, and that is the blessing of practice.

你渡自己、救自己,那是修慧。
You have to cultivate your true nature; buddha nature, to save yourself, that is the wisdom of practicing.

外渡人,內渡己,內外功兼修, 就是福慧雙修。
Externally to declare the Taoism, and to internally cultivate ourselves. Both practicing with inside and outside is the merit and wisdom accumulations in the same time.

如果貪執的心看不破,就算行再大的功勞、講再多的好話,功德還是很有限。
If you can't see through the greed and stubbornness inside our mind, even if you have a great of credit, say more good words, merit is still very limited.

六度波羅蜜中的佈施不是盡做表相的 功夫,而是要從內心真正的去除貪著;
One of the six great wisdoms is to do Busch; to do Busch is not doing the performance in surface, but to remove greed from the heart.

如果佈施很大,而心裡卻有所貪執, 執著一個「得」,有得則有失,就會在患得患失之中,你的慳貪又如何去除?
If you give a huge contribution, but the heart has conditional love with greed, in the care of "get", there is gain and loss again. How can your stingy and greedy be removed if the heart of worry about to get and losing is still there?

因此,「佈施度慳貪」的「佈施」, 是指「無所執」的清靜佈施。
Thus, the "Busch" of The Alms Give, donation, can transform misery and greed, refers to the quiet Busch of "un-minded".

故事-皇宮白象與貧窮羅漢
Story-White elephant of the royal palace and a down and out Arhat

有兩名修行人,師出同門,但修行法各異。
There are two Tao followers, they come from same school, but the methods of practicing Tao are different.

師兄修福不修慧,每天只拜佛、行善, 戒殺放生,不聽講經說法、不讀佛經,
The senior Tao follower, the brother only likes to worship the buddha, doing the good deeds and free the captive animals. But not listen to the Dharma and won't read the sutra.

年老後,對佛法事理不明, 連初果須陀洹ㄩㄢˊ未有證得。
When he was old, he didn't know the principles of Buddhism, and even the first stage of buddha  (Srotāpanna), he couldn't be.

師弟修智慧不重視福德,每日坐禪、鑽研經典,但不與眾生結緣,最後證得阿羅漢果。
The younger brother does not attach importance to virtues. Daily meditation, study the classics, but do not associate with all living beings, and finally he becomes the Arhat.

過了數十年,師兄去逝,師弟獨自入城教化眾生,但這位修慧不修福的出家人,未曾與人結緣,
After decades, the older brother died, and the younger brother entered the city alone to educate all beings, but this monk who cultivated wisdom without virtues had never been associated with anyone,

沒人肯供養他,即使他說他已經證得阿羅漢果,眾人仍未理會。
and no one would support him. Even though he said that he had proved Arhat Han Guo, the people still ignored it.

有一日,師弟來到一處輝煌的宮殿門口,忽見到一頭白象,白象身上披帶很多瓔珞和珠寶,自由自在走出,
One day, the younger brother came to the door of a splendid palace and suddenly saw a white elephant, the white elephant wore a lot of jewelry, and walked out freely.

師弟用羅漢眼一看,發現白象是師兄轉世。 已經證悟羅漢果的師弟,感嘆道:
The young brother look at the white elephant with Supernatural power, and found out it was the reincarnation of his brother. The younger brother who have already a Arhat lamented:

「修福不修慧,象身掛瓔珞; 修慧不修福,羅漢托空缽。」
「Cultivate virtues without wisdom, the elephant body hanging jewelry; cultivate wisdom does not cultivate blessings, Luohan can only rely on empty bowls.」

省思 Reflection

修道人若只積福德、不修智慧,無法 脫離六道輪迴,如同這頭莊嚴的白象。
If the cultivator only accumulates virtues and doesn't cultivate wisdom, he can't escape from the six reincarnations, just like this solemn white elephant.

只修智慧,不去佈施、與眾生結善緣, 雖能脫離六道輪迴之苦,但福德不積, 如同貧窮羅漢。
Only cultivate wisdom without contribution and be kind to all beings, although they can escape the suffering of the six reincarnations, but they are not as productive as the poor Luohan.

貧窮羅漢只修智慧,未盡利益眾生之事,欲勸化世人或托缽化緣時, 苦無人應,難以傳道。
Poverty Luohan only cultivates wisdom and doesn't fully benefit all sentient beings. If he wants to persuade the world or raise his alms, no one will respond and it is difficult to preach.

因此,修道人福慧雙修, 如飛鳥雙翼,缺一不可。
Therefore, the cultivators virtues and wisdom like the wings of birds, are indispensable.

結論 Conclusion

一、月慧菩薩慈語: 「修福不修慧,福中也造罪; 修慧不修福,慧中也糊塗。」

  1. Moon Hui Bodhisattva: 「Cultivate virtues without wisdom, still make karma within it; cultivate wisdom without virtues, also confused in wisdom.」

二、求道修道,三不離, 道心永駐,體用自如。

  1. To receive, cultivate, and stay with Tao forever. if keeping this three inseparable, then we could freely put Tao into practice and experience it.
